Van Halen and the Vans Warped Tour might have helped the AT&T Center lead the city in alcohol sales in June, according to mixed beverage tax receipts released by the Texas Comptroller’s Office last month.
The entertainment venue typically posts the highest amount of alcohol sales of all San Antonio venues that report their receipts to the state each month. But in May, the AT&T Center fell behind June’s No. 2 seller, Hospitality International Inc., which distributes mixed beverages at 23808 Resort Parkway, home to the Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa and TPC golf course.
After accounting for Texas’ 14 percent mixed beverage tax, Hospitality International earned nearly $1.7 million in sales in May, more than double the $623,069 that the AT&T Center collected that same month. However, in June, the two reversed positions, with AT&T Center concessionaire Aramark Sports and Entertainment drawing more than $1.3 million in sales while Hospitality International distributor trailed with just under $1.1 million.
